Description
Kathmandu Valley Trek is a short trek which revolves round the valley encompassing Kathmandu, Sundarijal, Chisapani, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel and Namobuddha. The trek propounds you to explore somke of the best view point near Kathmandu and also allow you to visit the conservation area where you may encounter various wildlife and birds of Nepal. Nagarkot and Chisapani hill tops offers the spectacular view point for mountains ranges. The trekking trail is ideal for every age group and those who are looking for short and normal elevation level hiking. Beside trekkers experience typical culture of local people and enjoy different authentic hospitalities.
Itinerary:
Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu and stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
After your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be received a representative of our company at the arrival gate and you will be taken to your designated hotels. If the time allows, you can either roam around the city near your hotel or relax at the hotel to overcome your jet lag. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02 : Full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu
The tour will begin in the morning. After breakfast, you will be taken towards Basantapur Durbar Square, one of the World Heritage Sites, where you can view many historical and cultural monuments. Later, you will visit Buddhist pilgrimage Swoyambhunath (famous the name of Monkey Temple among tourists) where you will get a chance to explore the religious connection between Hindus and Buddhists. After Swoyambhunath, you will be taken to Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and will have your lunch near. After lunch, you will visit another heritage site known as Pashupatinath Temple. This is a sacred Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva, which is always crowded Hindu pilgrims. Then you will visit Patan Durbar Square. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 03 : Kathmandu to Sundarijal and hike to Chisapani (5-6 Hours)
The day begins after breakfast; you will drive toward Sundarijal, 15 km (9 miles) northeast of Kathmandu, from where the trekking to Chisapani starts. You will be able to enjoy a moment of viewing the Himalayan ranges: Manaslu, Ganesh and Everest; viewing native villages, peoples, view of mid-hills mountains, and Helambu Valley, while hiking toward Chisapani. You will enter through the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve and come across with Tamang habitants in Mulkharka village. After 5-6 hours of hike, you will rest and stay overnight at a hotel in Chisapani.
Day 04 : Chisapani to Nagarkot Hike (6-7 hours)
After breakfast, the hike begins toward Nagarkot, a place located 32 km east of Kathmandu and a scenic spot for a sunrise view as well as a splendid view of the mountains. The hike takes 6-7 hours of walk through Shivapuri and Chouki Bhanjyang, with a view of villages, forests, and mountain peaks, and ends having a glimpse of the sunset in Nagarkot. Stay overnight at hotel in Nagarkot.
Day 05 : Hike from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel (4-5 hours)
You need to wake up early to catch a glimpse of the magnificent view of the sunrise along with mountains such as the Mount. Everest range in the east, and Annapurna and Dhaulagiri in the west. After breakfast in Nagarkot, you will hike toward Dhulikhel, situated 30 km southeast of Kathmandu; which has a diversified culture with traditional practices, as inhabitants include Newars, Brahmans, Chettris, Tamangs and Dalits. The hike takes approximately 4-5 hours of walking. After arriving in Dhulikhel, you can explore the beauty of traditional Newari craftsmanship, and some Hindu temples and Buddhist stupas. You can also see more than twenty mountains peaks including Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Ganesh, Mt. Langtang, Mt. Phuribichyachu, Mt. Gaurishanker, Mt. Lhotse and many others, with a great view from your hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Dhulikhel.
Day 06 : Drive back to Kathmandu from Dhulikhel
After breakfast and visiting around Dhulikhel for some time, you will be driven back to Kathmandu. After arriving at respective hotel, freshen up and visit the places near the hotel to explore on your own. In the Evening, you will have a chance to watch a cultural show and have a farewell dinner in an authentic Nepali restaurant to enjoy Nepali food and culture before your departure. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 07 : Transfer to Airport for departure to your own destination
Your Kathmandu Valley Trek terminates today. We hope you enjoyed your trek in Nepal. Our representative escorts you to the airport approximately three hours before your flight schedule. Have a safe flight back home!
