Description
The Royal Trekking is carried out along the foothills of Annapurna in the Pokhara Valley. The route is named as Royal Trekking since the Britain’s Prince Charles attended this route during early eighties. The trek explores the outskirts of Pokhara city where one can witness stunning natural beauties within a limited geography. The trek goes through a low altitude region and is ideal for all types of trekkers. The routes on the trek pass through different cultural and ethnic villages where trekkers can interchange their culture and experiences.
Itinerary:
Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu
After landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from your designated destinations, you will be received a representative of the travel company at the arrival gate who will then transfer you to you allotted hotels. If the time persists, you can either visit the city or relax at the hotel to overcome your jet lag. O/N at Hotel
Day 02 : Kathmandu Sightseeing and trek preparation
The Kathmandu sightseeing trip will begin in the morning. After breakfast, you will be taken towards Kathmandu Durbar (Palace) Square, one of the heritage sites where you can view many historical and cultural monuments. Later, you will visit another heritage site known as Pashupatinath Temple. This is a sacred Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva named which is always crowded Hindu pilgrims. After lunch, visit to Buddhist pilgrimage Swoyambhunath (famous the name of Monkey temple among tourists) will be carried forward. Likewise, Boudhanath Shrine will be covered the evening. After concluding the sightseeing, there will be seminar for you to attend to discuss about the upcoming trekking plans. O/N at Hotel
Day 03 : Kathmandu to Pokhara 6-7 hours bus ride
After exploring the historic Kathmandu Valley, on the day, you will board a tourist bus which will take you towards Pokhara, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. During this 6-7 hours bus ride, you can see Trishuli River along the way. You will reach Pokhara during the early afternoon hours. After lunch, you can wander around the beautiful lake city known for enthralling spectators with its superb mountain views. O/N at Hotel
Day 04 : Pokhara to Kalikastan (1,370m) 1 hr drive, 4-5 hrs walk
This is the day when you will start you exploration on the royal trek. You will be dropped at Bijayapur Khola after an hour’s vehicle ride. You will slowly but steadily start climbing to reach flat paddy fields in upper region of the valley. During the mid-day, you will reach few more ethnic villages before making the final stop of the day at Kalikasthan. O/N at Lodge
Day 05 : Kalikastan to Syglung (1,730m) 5-6 hrs walk
This is where the fun begins. After a long previous day, you will still have to wake up early despite any concerns. The day gets going right away towards Syglung village. You will enjoy walking on the day’s trails as they are scenic offering amazing views of Annapurna and Lamjung Himal to its north. After few hours, the trails will lead you towards rhododendron and oak forests before reaching Syglung. O/N at Lodge
Day 06 : Syglung to Chisapani (1550m) 5-6 hrs walk
The day will start with a descent towards some Gurung Villages on the route. In the course of the trek, you can interact with the ethnic people to know about the culture, traditions, and lifestyles. Soon, the trails will go past not so dense forests of pine and rhododendron. By the time you are about to reach Chisapani, there will be a steep ascent. After you reach the venue of the day, you will be enthralled with the views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. O/N at Lodge
Day 07 : Chisapani to Begnastal and drive to Pokhara 4-5 hrs walk, 1 hr drive
This is the final day of your trek as you proceed towards Pokhara walking downhill on the scenic landscapes and local villages to reach Rupatal. After hiking for few hours you will reach Sundare Danda, a beautiful ethnic village in the region. After exploring the village for some time, you will head your ways towards Begnastal. If you want you can do some boating at the magnificent lake. Later, you will be picked up for a drive towards Pokhara. You can enjoy your remaining time surfing in the glorious Lake city. Day 08 : Pokhara to Kathmandu (Drive or fly)
After a brisk sightseeing in Pokhara during morning hours, you will have to pack your bags to leave for Kathmandu. For the return trip, you will be offered a choice either to fly or to take road ways. Whatever means of transportation you chose you will be left with some time to go around the streets of the capital city for shopping. The day will give you the last chance to add up to your shopping list. O/N at Hotel
Day 09 : Transfer to the Airport for your onward destination
Your Royal Trekking terminates today. We hope you enjoyed your trek in Nepal. Our representative escorts you to the airport approximately three hours before your flight schedule. Have a safe flight back home!
